WangYong, Professor/Doctoral Supervisor. Prof. Yong Wang is currently Dean of International School, Jinan University and Vice-chairman of Oil and Lipid Branch of CCOA.He has been elected for the Program for New Century Excellent Talents by the Ministry of Education of China, the Program for Outstanding Young Professors of Guangdong Province, and the Program for Guangdong Yang Fan introducing Innovative and Entrepreneurial Teams (as the Team Leader). Professor Wang is the principle investigator (PI) of 4 projects supported by the NSFC, one of which is a key international (regional) cooperation and exchange project. He was also the PI of 4 sub-projects in the Key Research and Development Projects during the 13th Five-year Plan, the Science and Technology Support Projects during the 12th Five-year Plan, and National 863 Projects. Additionally, he has hosted more than 10 provincial projects, including 1 R&D project in key areas of Guangdong Province. Up to date, Professor Wang has more than 300 publications, among which 200 publications was indexed in SCI with more than 5300 citations, and h-index of 40. Currently he owns 41 patents (3 PCT), authorized for 22 patents including 2 US invention patent. He has received several science and talent awards, including the second prize of National Award for Science and Technology Progress, the second prize of Science and Technology Outstanding Achievement Award by Ministry of Education, the second prize of Guangdong Science and Technology Progress Award by Guangdong Government, the first prize of Guangdong Science and Technology Progress Award by Guangdong Government, the first prize of Science and Technology Progress Award by China Light Industry Federation, the first prize of CCOA Science and Technology Award by Chinese Cereal and Oil Association, the second prize of CIFST Technical Innovation Award by Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology , and the Guangdong patent Excellence Award. Professor Wang is also the director of the Guangdong Province Grain and Oil by-product Biorefinery Engineering Technology Research Center, the Engineering Research Center of Oil Biorefinery in Guangdong University, the Guangdong Provincial Food by-products Value-added Processing Industry Technology Innovation Alliance, the Joint Laboratory of Oil Biorefinery and Nutrition at Jinan University-Saskatchewan University, and the International Joint Laboratory on Plant Oil Processing and Safety at Jinan University-Universiti Putra Malaysia.
