Dr. Xian-Hui He is a professor in the Department of Immunobiology at Jinan University (Guangzhou, China). He got his bachelor from Xiamen University, received his Ph.D. from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (1999) and Master of Science from Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry (now Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology) (1990). After his postdoc training (2001), he became a faculty member of the Institute of Tissue  Transplantation and Immunology (Department of Immunobiology). His current interest is focused on the relationship between autophagy and immune responses as well as the roles of the histone deacetylase in immune cells. He is also interested in the mechanism of immunomodulatory effects of natural products from herbal plants. He has served as a member of the editorial board of Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica (a famous SCI-indexed journal in China) since 2006.
