主要从事藻类生理生态与生物技术等方面的研究,包括藻类光合作用微藻营养生理高密度培养技术,藻类高附加值生物活性物质的开发等。先后主持或参加了国家自然科学基金、科技部973”“863及省部级项目在藻类两个光系统的结构与功能研究方面,特别是在管藻目绿藻和杂色藻类叶绿体大量制备、色素-蛋白复合物的分离、光谱特性分析、复合物的结构、功能和进化,以及叶绿素分子间相互作用等方面取得了一些创新性的研究成果,藻类光合作用色素-蛋白质复合物研究2001年获得山东省高校科学与技术进步一等奖(第一位)。发表相关学术论文70余篇
