吕颂辉博士，暨南大学教授、博士生导师。现任暨南大学赤潮与海洋生物学研究中心主任、水生生物学重点学科负责人、“水体富营养化与赤潮防治”广东省高校重点实验室主任。曾任美国伍兹霍海洋研究所(Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution)高级访问学者，并先后赴日本东京大学（The University of Tokyo）、丹麦哥本哈根大学（University of Copenhagen）和意大利国家海洋生物研究所（Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn）访学。

    长期以来一直致力于海洋有害藻华（赤潮）的研究工作。在有害藻华发生的生态学和海洋学机制、有害藻类（特别是甲藻）的生物多样性和系统进化研究、海洋底栖有害甲藻的生物地理分布及产毒特性等研究领域进行了系统的创新性研究，是我国海洋赤潮研究领域的学术带头人之一。在国内外学术期刊发表论文200余篇。是国家自然科学基金和科技部等部委的项目会评专家。

    兼任“全球有害藻华的生态学和海洋学（GEOHAB）”国际研究计划科学指导委员会委员、中国海洋与湖沼学会常务理事、中国藻类学会副理事长、中国海洋与湖沼学会海洋环境专业委员会副主委、中国生态学会海洋生态专业委员会常务理事、南中国海赤潮学会秘书长、广东省人民政府突发事件应急管理专家、广东省环境保护咨询专家委员会专家组成员、广东惠州市人民政府决策咨询委员会专家、广州市环境学会副理事长等职。并兼任多个省部级重点实验室的学术委员会委员，担任多个国际海洋学和生态学主流期刊的审稿人。
